Jed S. Marcus

Jed S. Marcus founded Marcus Attorneys and is the chief executive officer of One Community.  He is a senior advisor to the firm and its clients.   

Prior to forming Marcus Attorneys and Insite in 1984, he served in New York City’s economic development agencies in several executive positions. Beginning public service as Counsel to the Mayor’s Office of Development, he last was the Executive Vice President of the New York City Public Development Corporation (renamed the Economic Development Corporation). At the Public Development Corporation, Jed directed planning, construction, industrial and neighborhood commercial development.

Much of Jed’s time is devoted to One Community.  The organization promotes the equitable flow of resources and opportunities in Fort Greene/Clinton Hill, in Brooklyn. It designs and sustains programs that offer concrete vocational, nutritional, educational, recreational, artistic, and health and mental health support that immediately changes people’s lives. 

In addition to his work at Marcus Attorneys and One Community, Jed led a real estate development and consulting firm, Insite, and has held managerial positions at a number of local, artistic and environmental organizations. He is currently a director of the Skyscraper Museum. 

Jed graduated from Wesleyan University and the Columbia University School of Law. He, his wife and their daughters are long-time residents of Fort Greene, Brooklyn.
